The monument was constructed in 1784 as a relief project for a major famine that hit the country the same year. The unique style of its construction has also makes it a popular tourist spot. The central hall here is said to be the largest arched hall in the world.
Bara Imambara is also popular because of its maze called the Bhul bhulaiya. Located on the upper level, the bhul bhulaiya give you the incredible view of the city. If you are a wildlife lover, then Lucknow Zoo is the perfect place for you to visit. It covers an area of about 71.6 acre and is located in the heart of the city. It was titled as one of the largest zoos in India by the Central Zoo Authority of India. The zoo was built in the year of 1921 by the then know, Prince of Wales.Thousands of tourist come here to witness 463 mammals, 72 reptiles, 298 birds which represent 97 different species. You can see royal Bengal tigers, zebras, Himalayan black bear, Asiatic lion, gray wolf, giant squirrels and many other animals. Here you will also find a cute Toy Train that takes you around the entire zoo.
Next in the list is the famous urban park called Janeshwar Mishra Park. The park is located in Gomti Nagar. It was made in the memory of the Samajwadi party politician, Janeshwar Mishra. This park claims to be one of the largest parks in Asia. A series of interconnected jogging tracks are built around the park. The tracks are said to be about 8.85 kms long. The park experiences heavy rush in the mornings and evenings. It is the perfect place for you and your family to enjoy a quaint picnic or day out.
