Shillong to host cherry blossom festival

Many of you might have heard about Japan’s famous cherry blossom festival but not everyone is able to go there. Thus for them, the good news is here as Shillong is all set to host the fourth edition of its India International Cherry Blossom festival from 13 November to 16 November 2019. No tension of visas, budget, and traveling, apart from that you can also experience the same beauty as any other place’s cherry blossom.

About the festival:

You can gaze at the beautiful pink blooms awash cherry blossom trees all around; the best time to see them is while walking at night. To make occasion entertaining there will also be music gigs, a beauty pageant, rock concerts, traditional folk music, unplugged western music, dance performances by natives of North East India and stalls showcasing the cuisine, wine, arts and crafts of the region.  Enjoy a fine dining experience at Ward’s Lake, from 4 pm to 8 pm. There will also be bicycle rallies, taekwondo demonstrations, and storytelling sessions. To make the event more exciting this time there will also be a cherry blossom photography competition where both old and new pictures will be accepted. This festival is celebrated to welcome the season of autumn in northeast India. As per the details, the cherry blossoms have already started blooming in the upper parts of Shillong and by the time of the festival, it will reach the other parts too.
