Himachal Pradesh welcomes snowfall again!

This year the weather has been continuously surprising everyone with its unpredictable results and recently again people got amazed to see fresh snowfall in Himachal Pradesh. Though March is the month when most of the parts in India start getting hotter but the situation in parts of Himachal seems quite different.

On Monday 11th March, Kufri in Shimla district received 2.5 cm of snowfall, Manali in Kullu district got 3 cm, whereas Kalpa in Kinnaur district received 5 cm, other small villages and places nearby experienced little rain throughout the day.

Manali and Kufri recorded sub-zero temperatures on Tuesday following snowfall in the higher reaches of the state and light to moderate rainfall in other parts the previous day, the Meteorological Department (Met) said.

The temperature in Manali, Kalpa and Keylong went minus. The minimum temperature in Kufri was minus 0.5 degrees Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature in Dalhousie and Shimla was 2.1 and 3.3 degrees Celsius.

However, some places got relief on Tuesday after the rain stopped but others are still experiencing the white sheet of snow all over. Many tribal places are experiencing 10 to 20 feet snow, people are asked to sit because of the risk of avalanches, public transport has got buried in the snow and there is no way to come out till the weather settles down. There are also areas where is no road connectivity and people are bravely facing the extreme weather.
