The Andaman and Nicobar are a group of islands. These mainly lie in the Bay of Bengal in a region named after them:  the “Andaman sea”. These islands host a variety of flora and fauna and long stretches of beaches. This Union territory of India isknown for its friendly native people, clear white sand and sparkling sea water.

These fun filled islands are known for their amazingly picturesque beaches. The Corbyn’s Cove, is a must go. This placid quiet place, 8kms away from all the hub of the main city is adorned with the lush green coconut palms. It has crystal white sand and is famous for its shells. If you are feeling adventurous there are many water sports in this area for you to try. Scuba diving to meet the underwater world is something you must try. This beach is also known for its surfing and boating activities. Having relatively calm water and being set in a cove this place is an ideal placefor swimming activities.
A trip to Radhanagar Beach is a must. Popularly known as Beach no.7,it is one of Asia’s top 5 beaches. This beach is situated in Havelock Island. This heavenly place is amazingly beautiful. Adorned with jewel like golden sand which shines in the brilliant Sun, the waves which are forever changing colour, splashing around give ita scintillating picture. With an amazinglyunbelievable splendour this beach is going to leave you mesmerized.

If you like elephants,the Elephant beach in Havelock Island is a place you should definitely visit. This is the beach where elephants are trained and many can be seen swimming. With it’s amazing collection of fauna, this place is one where scuba diving is worth an experience as you can spot a variety of underwater life, from eels to sea horses.

For all the history Fanatics, cellular jail is a place you should pay homage to. This jail is located in Port Blair and is the iconic symbol of the freedom struggle of India and has been designated as the National Memorial. It was built in 1896 by the British to keep captive the Indian freedom fighters. Some of the famous inmates of the Cellular jail were VinayakDamodarSavarkarand MaulanaAhmadullah.  The Cellular jail hosts a Sound and light show  in memory of those who sacrificed their lives in the name of our country . This show is hosted every evening. It relives the pre independence periods of bloodshed and sacrifice and pays tribute to the brave soldiers who died in the altar of their country.

The currency of these islands is the Indian Rupee. These Islands never see winters. These are warm and pleasant throughout the year. These islands are the first to be touched by the monsoons . These islands are very hot between March and May. The best time to visit is between November and April.

Apart from having delicious assortment of sea food ,the islands are known for having North Indian and South Indian food. This place has delicious dishes ranging from dosa and idli to naan and paneer.

These islands are a gold mine of history, tradition and natural beauty. This spectacular representation of true India has a definite spot in our top 20 honeymoon destinations.
