Carved of massive sandstone cliffs, these temples were created by Chalukyas in the 6th and 7th century. These temples are beautiful in architecture and are marvellous to look at. There are many spiritual places in Badami and each depicts different religious teachings which are shown in these carvings. Built by the Badami Chalukyas between 7th to 11th centuries AD, this fascinating piece of structure is dedicated to Lord Shiva.  It has marvellous sculptures to leave you spellbound. This group is a bunch of sandstone temples situated next to Badami cave temple. It has two temples in its group namely Temple 1 on the east side of the lake and Temple 2 on the north-east side of the lake.

This fort dates back from 543 AD and is a known archaeological site. Built by the Chalukyan king Pulakeshi this fort is about of 2 km distance from the main town of Badami. It was formerly known as Vatapi and is a monument which showcases the culturally rich bygone era of India. This fantastic architecture was destroyed by Pallavas after which it came under the rule of Tipu Sultan who re-built many of its structures. This fort is open from 10 AM to 5 PM except on Friday and you have to pay an entry fee of Rs. 5 to enter it.

These temples have a pyramidal shape making it different from the other styles of architecture. This Dravidian architecture is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva and is situated close to Bhutanatha group of temples.
