Perito Moreno Glacier

The Perito Moreno Glacier is a glacier located in the Los Glaciares National Park and one of the only three Patagonian glaciers that is growing. Situated in the west of Santa Cruz province, it is one of the most important tourist attractions in Argentina.

The Perito Moreno is the most outstanding among the 356 glaciers, having a height of over 60 meters above the water-level and a 5 km long front. It is globally famous for its trial of ruptures and when it approaches the coast, the front of the glacier closes the running of the waters of Brazo Rico.

This result into the formation of a pond where the waterlevel goes up 20 meters above then normal, creating the percolation that ends up in the fracture.

From a short distance you can see the separation of ice blocks of different sizes, hear the rumbling sound they make, and then they become wonderful floating icebergs that you can also see.
